Child safety standards

Last updated November 2026

StudentConnect, published by Taap Softwares, has zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) and child sexual abuse material (CSAM). These standards apply to every profile, post, comment, Story, Short, message, call and file on StudentConnect.

Strictly prohibited

  • Any content that sexualises minors, including images, videos, drawings, AI-generated or edited media, text and links.
  • Grooming: building a relationship with a minor for sexual purposes, or asking a minor for sexual images, contact or meetings.
  • Sextortion, trafficking, or offering, requesting or trading CSAM in any form.
  • Sharing intimate images of anyone without consent.

Who can use StudentConnect

StudentConnect is a network for university students and is not intended for children. Direct messages and calls are only possible between accepted connections, and anyone can be blocked at any time.

Reporting

  • Use the Report option on any profile, post, comment, Story, Short or message. Reports are confidential.
  • You can also contact our child safety team through the developer email shown on our Google Play and app store listings.
  • If a child is in immediate danger, contact local emergency services (in Bangladesh: 999; National Child Helpline: 1098).

What we do

  • Reported content is reviewed by moderators as a priority. CSAE content is removed and the accounts involved are permanently banned.
  • We preserve relevant information and report confirmed CSAM and child exploitation to the appropriate authorities, including the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and Bangladesh law enforcement, as required by law.
  • We cooperate with valid law enforcement requests.
