Community & safety guidelines

Last updated November 2026

StudentConnect is a campus community. Treat people the way you would in a lecture hall: with respect, honesty and care.

Not allowed

  • Harassment, bullying, threats or targeted abuse of any person or group.
  • Sharing intimate or sexual images or videos of anyone without their consent, and any sexual content involving minors (see our Child safety standards).
  • Doxxing: posting someone's phone number, address, ID documents, schedules or other private information.
  • Asking for or sharing passwords, OTPs, bank details, card numbers or identity documents.
  • Impersonating another student, staff member, university or organisation.
  • Illegal content, including selling drugs, weapons, exam papers or stolen goods.
  • Hate speech, violent extremism, spam, scams and misleading academic offers.

How we enforce

  • Anyone can report a profile, post, comment or message. Reports are confidential.
  • Moderators may remove content, limit features or suspend accounts. Serious cases may be referred to the university or the authorities.
  • If you think a decision was wrong, you can reply to the moderation notice to request a review (appeal).

Look after yourself

Block anyone who makes you uncomfortable. They won't be told, and they can't see your profile or message you. If you are in danger, contact local emergency services or your university's student support office.
